A Journey Through Realities

Date: 47th of Rise

It was an evening like any other, or so our adventurers thought, as they delved deeper into the mysterious estate they found themselves in. After grappling with the idea of the burden of monetary gains, the party stumbled upon a grove of fertile berry bushes. They eagerly harvested the ripe fruit, and the party was able to gather an abundance of goodberries - enough for a small feast.

Beltrana, finding a once-pristine statue lying in the center of the room, felt compelled to mend it. Though her efforts did little more than confirm the effigy’s likeness to Maloor, the satisfaction of completing the mending process was reward enough. Hjorgen, wanting to store some of the goodberries for later, pulled out his Bag of Coolton, only for it to explode in his face. This unexpected event sent fissures through the very fabric of reality around them.

Just before the cracks could widen further, the party triggered a switch on an arcane, altar-like construct in the center of the room. Arcane energies pulsed and swirled, but nothing else seemed to happen. Without further ado, they decided to head back to the estate’s lobby through the open portal, and strategized their next course of action.

Hoping to return to the room they had just vacated, the party utilized the same magical means again, only to find themselves in the vast, empty expanse of the Astral Void - an eerie, colorless environment speckled with ancient stone platforms. They soon realized they were not alone, as ethereal beings closed in around them.

The party fought valiantly, felling some of the creatures, but not before three of these incorporeal foes entered Astrid’s form. An altercation broke out between Astrid and Beltrana, who were still trapped within the Void. However, Beltrana’s quick thinking and a well-placed Dispel Magic spell forced the ethereal beings out, leaving Astrid shaken and scarred.

Managing to escape back to the lobby once more, the party tried a different magical conduit, which led them to another chamber - this one resembling a living quarters of sorts. As they carefully searched the book-laden room, Hjorgen was dismayed to find that his favorite pipe had gone missing. The party soon discovered a hoard of stolen goods hidden within a small hole in the wall, obviously pilfered by a clever little rodent. Through a combination of powerful magic and an unwillingly sacrificed tiny, pink creature, they captured and executed the thieving vermin. Their belongings were recovered, leaving our party taking a moment to breathe, perhaps even more confused than when they began. The adventure into the unknown depths of this strange estate continues…
